Nina Barraco is a Researcher/Designer at Civilla who brings her diverse background in art, design, and anthropology to transform the unemployment insurance agency system in Michigan.

As a life-long Michigander, Nina feels the most fulfilled when she can bring her love of design to benefit her home state. Graduating from the University of Michigan, she has worked as a researcher and designer across a variety of organizations in Michigan. Some of those include work at public universities and nonprofits to art conservation and archaeology.

Merging research with storytelling continues to guide Nina’s work and her commitment to human-centered design.

She not only slam dunks design projects, but she received the proud honor of “Hustle Award'' at a Piston’s basketball camp in middle school.
